Hi there

I have a question for you guys here. My adsl line can go up to 6Mb/s and my adsl uncapped account is mweb 4mb. Will I get disconnections when my adsl is set to 6Mb/s but my ADSL account is still 4mb/s.

I saw mweb is giving me some extra speeds when it's set to over 4mb/s but I can go for months when suddenly it disconnects and mweb tells me it's my line that is not the same speed as my account.

Please comment

Regards

Its not because the line is 6mb/s and account that is 4mb/s that you get disconnected. There is another reason like your line is syncing at a very low SNR, like 6db, and when there is fluctuation on that value, ie it drops below 6db then all of a sudden the modem loses sync with the DSLAM.

So you need to figure out how to get your line to sync at better stats, usually dropping the line speed to 4mb/s is the easiest way to do that.

This is just one possible cause, it could be something else, but I doubt mweb is disconnecting you because your line syncs faster.

cool thanks. So I bumped my line up to 6mb/s now and it's stable so far
