Hi there. I am planning on moving to Durban soon end of month, if possible. I have a computer tower and a flat screen which I might need to take with me. Would this cost any extra? I really need a computer for work wise right now.......

Box it up well and book it in as luggage with huge "Fragile - Handle with care" stickers. Before switching on check that your RAM and other components are still seated properly....

This is the problem. After travelling you will need to open the case and check that all the components and cables are still seated correctly.
Also, best to remove the hard drive and keep it with you.

Reminds me of the time I moved a whole companies network (10 servers) about 22+ years ago in my car in about 3 trips on the backseat as I didn't trust the removal company. **** would I have been in **** if something happened

I'm sure some noble MyBB forumite will volunteer to check your chassis once you arrive in Debbin! :p

Disassemble the whole PC and take the MB, GPU, CPU, RAM and Hardrive as personal luggage.
If you can't do it yourself, take your chassis to a PC repair shop the'll do it for you and they should only charge you for an half-hour's labour.
On the other side you'll still have to pay another techie to assemble the thing again, but i think this is still preferable to entrusting your box of joy to some airport terminal labourers.

If it's properly packaged it will be fine, have couriered routers with a value exceeding a small african country's budget on many an occasion.

I'll be willing to check it out for you if you are close enough. Still have not said where you are moving to.

Another good idea is to clean the inside of your case before you leave - During travel 'dust bunnies' might come loose & lodge themselves in places that could cause damage / overheating. ;)

That is a huge area south to north and inland around the airport :D Well let us know when you find out and we can take it from there ;)
