Why is our forum software so lame ???

I want to change my forum id to just plain "tibby" and there seems to be no way of doing it short of creating a new account.

Can you imagine the chaos if everyone could change their nicks when ever they wanted to. It would be like changing your number plate on your car to match your clothes in the morning

Simple Machines forum allows you to change your username, if the admin allows it.

Yar look... 99.9% of forum software restricts the changing of forum nicks. The chaos would be unbelievable if people could just arbly do this. We might end up with a complete forum of bwana v.0 to bwana v.6000 if we did that. Or someone could impersonate rpm or anything. Bugger that for a lark.
