China has become successful because the Chinese people are experience the freedom to buy, and to sell, and to produce -- and China can grow even more successful by allowing the Chinese people the freedom to assemble, to speak freely, and to worship.
Seconds later, one of the people assembled on the White House south lawn actually tried to speak freely right here in America -- about both the lack of free speech and religious freedom in China.
That free-speaking woman was promptly hauled off and arrested:
She shouted in heavily accented English, "President Bush: Stop him from killing" and, "President Bush, stop him from persecuting the Falun Gong."
Bush, standing next to Hu, leaned over and whispered a comment to the Chinese leader, who paused briefly when the shouting began and then resumed his remarks.
The protester was waving a banner with the red and yellow colors used by Falun Gong, a banned religious movement in China. She kept shouting for several minutes before Secret Service uniformed agents were able to make their way to her position at the top of the camera stand. They dragged her off the stand.
A photographer who was standing next to the protester tried momentarily to quiet her by putting his hand in front of her mouth.
Yep ... the land of the free ... Americans are so stupid and deluded.
Behave yourself, and basta with the America bashing

bwana v.10 : I really do. Very much so in fact. Where the USA wins out is in terms of 'freedoms' such as 'free from poverty', 'free from crime', etc
The normal freedoms - free speech, etc I think we are much, much more free. Since 911, they have passed some horrific bills in the states that make them look very backward

Well said lady. The perversion of america allows them to throw people in jail without trial (sound familiar) and endless retracting of personal freedoms through the Patriot Bill and unlegislated spying on the people of america by the bush regime.
I wonder if Bush should apologise if somebody calls Thabo Mbeki a (insert derogatory word for a black man here) whilst hosting him.
NEIO,do you play cards?call a hart a hart.call a club a club,call a spade...and so on:)

Its worse in many other country's why pick on USA and Bush? again. That Heckler was a disgruntled Chinese national belonging to a banned religious sect, seems there is many Hecklers on this forum too. So why sh@t on bush for it. He had nothing to do with it thus this thread just became another Bush bashing farce!
C'mon man be realistic for a change, He apologised even if it was not a USA national! Rather odd was that he grabbed the Chinese ministers sleeve to hold him back for an photo session pose, that in Chinese / Japanese culture is maybe more of an insult and more worthy of a discussion than the Bush apology!

No - bush chooses to ignore thousands of people in jail (for having an opinion) - executions - body farming - atrocities going on in china - which according to george are acceptable in the name of the dollar. He didn't think the same of Iraq did he?! What happened to america standing up for the freedoms of the world! If this was 45 bush would be supporting hitler - ! Equivalent analogy in atrocities.

pupa - you should take some time to look through your rhetoric (and your haze of ideology) - I am not condemning the great american way - but I do not find hundreds of thousands of dead people acceptable based on a lie - or the thousands of dead american (and other nationals) troops based on the likes of rumsfield, cheney and bush. They are scum - call them what they are.
And - chinese are sitting in jail for running a blog FFS - body farming has been reported - there is no accountability. America should be the first to stand up - instead gates is licking his # ... a sick, sorry bunch.

Yeah but what is going on in the rest of the world is fine with All! like Russia with their neighbour. Do we have to wait for a nuke and then say yes true, he was a nasty man. If we still existed. There was WMD, the scuds were some, the poison gas he used on Kurds were some, he showed he will use it. Funny that all large weaponry disappeared even the remaining scuds. I wont be surprised they are at the neighbors! or Saddam should not have bragged about his power like Iran is doing now. Should we wait for Iran to create a nook as the Koreans, India, Pakistanis have done in the sly. NO! Why because the Muslims extremists! will use it or give it to someone that will. Diplomacy with extremist country's was and will be always a farce!

No - thread about china and america. Russia is not throwing people in jail for having an opinion - yes - their practices have been dubious of late - and policy on Chechnya - and the breaks in the pipeline - unacceptable - but no longer running gulags - which both America and China are doing!
Do we have to wait for a nuke and then say yes true, he was a nasty man. If we still existed.
It is well documented that Iran is years away from a nuke. The man may be a ranting idiot - unfortuantely the arabs have a gripe - get to grips - instead of ignoring it and hoping it will go away (hamas, etal). Or - not making equal crime by threatening to nuke them (for goodness sake - who is this bush creep!)
There was WMD, the scuds were some, the poison gas he used on Kurds were some, he showed he will use it.
Oh tut. The poison gas was supplied by Germany. The scuds were 150 years old (or something.) Get real. Yes he used poison gas - he was a dictator (created by america) - does 2500 dead american troops justify this...? Oil, profit, the mighty dollar. Halliburton, Bush Inc.

The only reason america allows korea - is because they know china will kick their butt if they interfere. India and Pakistan - now there we have something. America patting them on the back - what is wrong with this picture??!

India Pakistan is no threat to USA! Except Korea and Iran, maybe Syria non of these country's is extremists renegades! Iran can have a nuke in 10 Years? unless they get Uranium from somewhere Korea or China? then 2 Years is possible! They did not want the China offer of a solution to the problem Why?. Mmmm ? In any event why wait till they have one. Grow Up man, America was answering Rhetoric with Rhetoric about the nuke. They do not need to use one! and they will never again as a first strike! (they were at war!) You cry about 2500 troops doing duty! What about 3000 innocent civilians in 9/11( maybe Iran had nothing to do with it maybe they had, they did harbour extremists) With a nuke in the hands of the extremist Muslims, that will amount to millions. Why wait for it!

I agree pupa - but there are more ways of dealing with a problem than offering more violence. Positive engagement is not war. America, bush have an agenda that is not necessarily in the interest of the free western world.
And Pakistan, India - they should have been condemned friends or not. We don't need more nuclear armed nations. America should crack the whip for all equally - not just in the name of its dollar interests.

Kilo without deterrents there would have been serious wars eons ago, WWII would have just been the start of it. The USA nukes shocked the world to Temporary peace as there will never be peace unless you have a strong leader or GVT or Nation or World order that can keep PPL at bay. There will always be unhappy peeps and unless you brainwash all or dominate them with fear, they will take up arms. That's human nature since evolution, and the subsequent DNA interference to create the first man. The 4000+ years history we have is proof of that and will never end!

... and bush is just perpetrating more of this - and making the situation worse - there is no excuse for lying to the world (going to war with Iraq) - and there is no excuse for threatening nuclear warfare - it may be rhetoric - then why say it (or plan for it?) Just making the problem worse - and setting up the angles for an invasion - for the ends of bush inc.

So you advocate doing nothing until all rogue nations have a nuke and react only when they use it? No need to prepare for protection against a war. That's how many a nation were caught napping in the past and did not survive to regret it. All indications are that it will also be the case in future. Only the date in not fixed unless you do as i believe in some predictions that 2012 or 2026 would be the D day!
Diplomatic means is only used by rogue nation to gain time. N-Korea is a prime example of this!. Doing nothing get you caught napping. India Pakistan is proof of that. Well who's next! Korea, Iran, Syria?? just wait for the next big 9/11 and we talk again!
