Do you remember this? Stole some of my dad's out of the fridge when I was about 12/13 years old.
Yes, this is where my addiction to beer started! :D

Used to be my favourite beer, We played hockey on Sundays and our club fined everybody 20c if they drank another brew. In fact the hockey playing was mainly due to the fact that everything was closed on Sundays in those days and that was the only legal? way to get your favourite brew on a Sunday. This was the early 1970's.
Many years later ONE advertising campaign torpedoed the brand. I think that it is still being taught as how not to do an advertising campaign.

Why was LION lager done away with?
Not enough people buying it, from what I have heard it was second to Castle?

I heard that it was made in Zimbabwe, maybe thats why. Was my favourite beer too. Back then, I only drank Lion or No17 as they dubbed it back then. When it dissapeared from the market, I was forced onto hard liquer.

My first beer ever was a LION LAGER.
Also known as "Nommer seventien" :D
The castle drinkers used to say "When I drink Castle, I pee LION" :O

Ah the good old days... Sitting on a Black Label crate sharing quarts of Lion with friends. Young, dumb and full of Lion - puberty was great.
