Can't the date the thread was started be displayed somewhere on a topic page? A lot of old threads are sometimes dug up and with the sheer volume of new topics this would be a nifty little feature, IMO.

it is... if you look above the alias of the person who started it, theres a date and time.... bingo!

It is? I thought the date and time that wizard pointed out was the last post date?

No there isn't. I'm talking about in the topic list windows (thread index), not the actual thread viewing window. The date/time displayed is the last post date, not the date/time thread was started.

Well the first post in each thread shows the time it was created and the date. Don't quite get why you want to see a chronological view of the starts of threads? Isn't it more important to see which ones have new posts?

I agree with Kingmonty, it has irritated me before, but not enough to actually say anything about it.

Why would you want it? simple...
You click "new posts", and suddenly see a thread you dont recognise, with maybe 10 posts in it...so you think "goody, some action" and promptly open the thread up, only to discover it is something from 2004 that a newbie has dragged up so that they can add their 2c. Now, this rubbish thread (and others like it) all show as "new posts" with a last post date of the current day etc...so you cant really tell, unless you remember all thread titles, if it is worth your time to look or not.

And with the userbase growing, it happens more and more often..old dead threads getting dragged up again for air, and distracting my valuable (lol) attention.
