I need to get to Centurion and back, I live close to Northgate mall.
The only route i can think of is to Drive to the Bright Water Commons, take the bus to Sandton Station.
Is there a Gautrain bus direct from Northgate to Sandton?
thanks

This is exactly why the Gautrain is a failure if you don't live within the extremely limited feeder network.
It forces one to own a motor vehicle just to get to and from the station. :(

Dude this is the start of the Gautrain, it might not be viable for you now - but to label it a failure is a bit harsh as they will probably branch out later. When their network reach is far, we are going to look at other cities like Cape Town and Durban and ask why they don't have something similar (if the same standard is maintained).
I think it is a matter of time till the other cities go the same route. Cape Town does have the new busses, but I think the middle class train is the way to go. How is the busses used in Cape Town? I saw the station in Milnerton last year and it does look better maintained than the ones we have here in Joburg - maybe it is just because the streets are cleaner.

Bombella replied to an email I sent them regarding expanding the bus feeder network.
Firstly the bus feeder networks need to be approved by the Gauteng Provincial Government in conjunction with the respective municipality.
Secondly the bus feeder routes may only extend 10km (radius) from the station that it departs from.
So an expanded bus feeder network is unlikely to ever happen and the municipal buses don't feed the Gautrain stations either.

Do you need to use the Gautrain? Maybe you can drive. Get on Malibongwe, drive north towards N14. Take N14 to Centurion. I think it will take you the same time (if not quicker) than going through all the buses and train to Centurion.
Not sure what the traffic is like at the John Vorster-offramp though.

I know that, it is a problem I also have and asked them about it. I was thinking more along the lines of them expanding the train services. The buses isn't that convenient in my opinion. There routes are to places that people rarely use the service. In my area I can see the different cars drive directly to the station and there is no bus route there. But when I pass the stop close to my work the busses are empty coming and going.
