Telkom touts cheaper fibre services on the horizon (http://mybroadband.co.za/news/broadband/52097-cheaper-telkom-fibre-services-coming.html)

Telkom plans to make it easier and cheaper for its customers to access fibre services to satisfy their demand for bandwidth

Fibre means a single rental as all voice calls will be VOIP. Ergo naked broadband! So no naked ADSL as ADSL requires copper.... :p

I wouldn't put it past Telkom to find some way to charge us twice simply because we are also using the line for voice calls as well.
Even if they have to get their pals in government to implement a surchage on VOIP through legislation.
Watch this space! ;)

Most likely you will still pay for a number, like you have to pay the current VOIP providers for a number.

Does anybody still take a word of what they say serious ?

Isn't it common knowledge by now that what they say in their presentations and conferences, and what actually happens is the real world, is in two different universes ?

How much does Telkom CEO gets paid? The share price has halved since she took over!

In terms of the Companies Act of 2011, this has to be revealed. If she made the now standard loot of least R12m + Bonus!
