Pity that it is scheduled for the same time as the Baby Boks game.

John Smit’s final farewell to the Mr Price Kings Park faithful takes place on Friday 22 June 2012. John will bid an emotional goodbye to those who have supported him over the past 10 years when his Barney’s Army side play the Sharks.

The game is in celebration of the launch of the John Smit Foundation, a charitable trust set up to assist some of John’s chosen charities, including the Bobbi Bear Foundation, the Chris Burger Petro Jackson Fund and The LIV Village.

The Barney’s Army team will be made up of a renowned line-up of former Sharks, Boks and internationals. Legends like Victor Matfield, Brent Russel, Stefan Terblanche and Percy Montgomery will take on a youthful John Plumtree Sharks 15. Barney’s Army has a sound mission:

To bring hope and assistance to those who need it most and to enlist the aid of honourable individuals to help us achieve our mission.

At the heart of our mission lies a determination to assist these 3 charities in all ways possible; to support their honourable and tireless efforts, and to commend their bravery.

Thanks. Wonder if these old boks will play at their best and not let the baby sharks win like we've seen the Barbarians do on many occasions.

Hope no one gets hurt.

Good fun atmosphere at the Tank...

Pity the game lacked that competitive edge...

Sharks were far too strong and fitter...

Smit should have swopped jerseys at half time and played for the Sharks.

Smit scoring a conversion was priceless...

Maybe he should come back for the Boks at 10... Since Steyn can't fsckin kick !!!!!
