Nope that's it for today.
Great swim by Le Clos, really did us all proud. Relay team and Louw also swam well despite being obviously weaker then the others in the race.
Rowing team also made the final, so a pretty decent day for us.

I thought he would medal, just not gold. I think swimming next to Phelps gave him a big advantage. The commentators thought it would be the other way around. I watched his swim in the Semi-Finals and he was slow for the first 100m. In the second 100m he did much better. Phelps went like a bat out of hell in the first 100m and it gave Le Clos something to chase. He was 2 seconds under his semi final time which was an African Record (and his PB). I have never seen Phelps make a mistake (as the commentators said) like what happened at the end but I don't think it was. I looked at the last 10m again and he was completely blown. I think if had gone for another stroke he would have lost the silver too. Still, 19 medals in total for Phelps is amazing and 15 golds (6 more than second place). No doubt the best swimmer of all time. It's also the first time he has lost in the 200m fly in a big event in 11 years.

so i just waited and watched patiently knowing he was going to do something.
and just by the way, what the hell was that commentator on about with regards to michael phelps? he made a mistake? what mistake? did phelps suddenly start swimming breaststroke, backstroke in the dying seconds of the race or what? what an idiot. from what i saw phelps swam the same all the way through. chad did to phelps exactly what phelps did to that other swimmer in the 2008 olympics in the 50m butterfly. so no - it was fair and even as far as i'm concerned.

Most i think were hopeful that Chad would finish on the podium, very few gave him any chance of a GOLD !

Not sure you are referencing the correct post? He clearly stated that Le Clos blew Phelps away at the end, it wasn't a case of him capitalising on an error as everyone else is saying.

He messed up on his final stroke. He never touched the wall on a full stroke while Chad did. Pretty clear Chad was behind up until that last stroke and that is where he nailed it. And it makes a MASSIVE difference. mr madgin the principal from penzance primary school was interviewed on east coast radio this morning. there is a huge banner up at the school with chad's name on it as well. just the usual interview with mr madgin, how chad did at school etc. but it was nice to hear.
