Damn german essay is interrupting my viewing but i still have it on in the background...:)

Italy have had a few chances already, but Ghana look quite good coming forward as well...

Should be interesting. I think Ghana may just sneak this one...

it will be sad to see them [Ghana] losing by one goal after a good performance

At least Italy are attacking a bit more than normal in this one. Still, once they go 1-0 up i guess the shutters will come down :(

Well that looked a penalty to me(clearly a dive upon second viewing)...And the Ghanains havent been helping their cause or won themselves any fans by going down far too easily throughout the game...

2-0 to Italy FT :(

I thought Ghana deserved a draw, but they have to work on their finishing.

Italy didnt impress me that much. I said that Ghana went down too easily? My g0d, the italians went down and writhed around in agony after every tackle! Poor form :(

hj2k_x is would disagree with your comments - I thought Italy played well. They played with pace and a good tempo.Luca Toni was very dangerous due to good movement off the ball.Ghana played well but their finishing was poor.

Iam getting sick of SABC going on about africa and how well they gonna do.Unforunately due to the SABC going on and on about "Africa's Passion" etc , my hope is that all the African teams lose every game.So far so good.

Agree with u there ubercal, the SABC commentators are always a bit over the top in supporting afican countries. As you say, they are all doing a good job of 'doing the continent proud' but still managing to lose all their games so far...

Lets see how this one progresses

I'm sure it's the same thing all over the world, broadcasters tend to be biased towards their own teams, and why would you hope that African teams lose every game if you are an African or are you?

both teams played well but sadly theatrical dives were more present on the Italian side, so i happily place them into my Oscar Diving Group joining Argentina and Portugal. :p

I'm getting sick of the poor English. They should just speak in their native language and get it over with.

I agree, most of their audience don't use English as their mother-tongue anyway.

to be honest the english commentary on SS7 is not up to scratch too, at times the commentator himself confuses one team or the other!

plus their comments on yellow cards and fouls at times is so irritating its as if they are watching another game elsewhere!

The official commentary i.e the british guys are great. They make the game seem more enjoyable. Marks Maponyane on the other hand is killing me slowly but surely...man that guy has the most monotone voice I think I've ever heard and half the time he just states the obvious. My favourite is the french dude..even though his accent is a bit funky he makes some very valid points and he actually sounds like he knows what he's talking about.

Angelo , i really dont want to get into a debate on "if iam an african or not".Last night of SAFM during the "Call-back" section they posed the question , "Will African teams go far in the WC".All the White ppl said No ,while all the Black ppl said Yes.

I find the commentary on SS very euro-centric.

"I am sad for my family," said an inconsolable Kuffour.

"Sad for my country and for the rest of Africa."

Kuffour, 29, admitted his team could have equalised had he not made that costly error.

"We still had time to find the equaliser," he said.

We know why he did apologise after what happenned to Pierre Wome of Cameroon and that player after the 94 World Cup

I know that Andreas Escobar was shot dead by 'fans' shouting "Goal, Goal!" after each bullet hit him, after scoring an OG against the USA in 1994, but remind me what happened to Pierre Wome again?

Pierre Wome missed a last minute penalty during a match for the 2006 World Cup qualifiers which would have taken Cameroon to this event. Fans threatened to burn his family house and kill his family members and he has since 'retired' from international soccer.
