Ignacio but u leave out the part where he personally atacked me first but I am suppose to leave it and the " :D " its normally meant the person is joking at u also. left out. Also I never once atacked Angelo personally untill he started which you also neglected to mention.

I think people should think about whether it is really worth the time and effort to discuss controversial political topics. Avoid the politics threads if you want to avoid a flame war.

I think if people start posting in political (or any controversial) threads they should anticipate a flame war and not run crying to the mods all the time. The people crying racist all the time for no reason only make themselves look like *******s over and over again anyway. :rolleyes:

It is not the function of a moderator to hold group therapy sessions & ask everyone how they feel and what caused them to attack a fellow forumite.You'll never get them together in a single group anyway :D

I for one agree with the moderators. The post would have caused unnecessary flaming again. I know said complainant only too well and the fact that he/she actively seeks to post stuff only relevant and slanting towards racism. It was an accident but as usual in this country it is not an accident if a white person is involved, even though the truth is it was a fscking accident. My apologies for that, it must have been the display option Ignacio is alluding to, I have reset my settings.
I still haven't recieved an official answer on why my thread was deleted before it could even have replies whereas acerbic threads have remained locked but not deleted and at worst not deleted at all.

Imo, generalisations are not to be taken literally, they're typically used to emphasize the fact that a great percentage of a particular group has certain characteristics.
People start getting pissed off when they take generalisations personally and think they're being applied to them directly.

It might be true that most violent crimes are committed by blacks, but that certainly doenst mean all black people commit violent crimes, or any crimes for that matter, and the same goes for the 'all Whites are responsible for apartheid' generalisation.

I think that people misunderstand generalizations, they're not intended to apply to all people, only to emphasize the fact that it is either something characteristic of a group of people or something that is most often found to apply to a certain group of people.
When people start taking offence to generalisations and think it applies indiscriminately to all people, they kinda perpetuate the misunderstanding, and it just leads to more crap.
