Uh... and you bought it cash?
i.e. It's not tied to a contract? (Cos the sp will have a problem with you selling it otherwise)

AFAIK the SP doesn't really care what you do with the fone when you've got it.

Yep, i think you're right, after all, in the ads they say the phone is free

Heh, depends on what your definition of free is:rolleyes: If it's "Don't exchange folding money upon delivery but end up paying 300% more than the cash price after being raped for 24 months" then ja, I suppose it's free:)))

So it has NO warranty? Since whoever buys it did not sign the contract...?

The Nokia N91 is selling new for R5000. So I would say R4800 for a second hand N91 is a bit expensive considering that high spec phones loose their value the minute it is out of the dealers hand. Even if the box are sealed.
I would think if you get R3000 for that phone you will win big. A i-Mate Jasjar is R8500 new and a month old one will sell for about R4000.
And I'm speaking out of experience.

Warranty belongs to the phone.

I realise the phone is essentially new, but I wouldn't pay new price once it has been opened and used. And I could get one and pay it off interest-free for that same price.

Quite right - they don't even check your invoice. They just scan it in and they have the date it was bought. Did not even ask my name when I took my cell in for repairs after 3 months.
You can sell any phone that you get on a contract.... but dont cancel that contract or be a bad payer... then you will need that exact handset.
Also just keep in mind the new law if you do sell a phone... you need stuff like the buyer's ID Copy, physical address details, etc.
The same details you require / give when you sell / buy a starter pack.

On that point, I bought a MTN R1.99 starter pack at P & P with the groceries today and no details were taken.
Yea I know... I saw they had these large containers full of starter packs...
Actually they are supposed to take down details... was on the news & all.
