ajak received two infractions for the same thing. One was from me, one was from another mod.
The infractions were given without any communication between the mods concerned. In other words, two mods saw ajak's posts, and two mods, on their own, applied infractions independently.
I am in the wrong here and should not have given ajak the infraction, given that I am not a mod of the sub-forum in which ajak posted his comments. I should have contacted the mod concerned first, but I did not do this. I have apologised to the other mod concerned, and ajak obviously posted this thread whilst I was writing him a PM explaining what had happened.

I cannot give myself an infraction, as much as I may have wanted to in the past.

vBulletin does not allow more than one infraction to be issued per post. So ajak got the correct number of infractions, i.e. one from each of us, you are definitely not in the wrong here.

and how do we avoid the wrath of Debbie2?
EDIT - that was meant as the wrath of any of the mods - ie what are the criteria :)

and how do we avoid the wrath of Debbie2? :eek:Not sure, but if anyone has received 10 infractions in the same overlapping time-period [infractions automagically expire after a week or two] then vBulletin probably sends the deca-infracted username straight to hell.
In order to avoid Debbie2's wrath <edit>any mod's "wrath"</edit>, thou shalt behave :p.

She's a mod BBSA, you need to have circuits that will be routed to your computer keyboard, becoming a mod is a time consuming procedure, it is painful, extreme and it takes all your resources ;)
To be a mod is to be almost like a greek god, you have to have a certain flare and style with your followers, you have to know that you are their master and that what you say is final, you are programmed that way, so it hardly takes effort, the least we the followers can do is shine the bots, give them regular electricity and make sure that their systems are rebooted ocassionaly, you will learn soon enough what it is to be a follower of a mod, BE PATIENT!
LOL! :D

Thanks ic, until you posted that I was unaware that we had picked out two different posts.
I'm going to bed now, before my ego gets out of hand (that is if it is not already). Besides, I need to go pillage some other galaxies now in my dreamtime :)

Are you suggesting a conspiracy?
It could just be a case of infractile dysfunction? :D

sigh..... i have been through this with you all
the mods are incapable of clandestine operations for they are machines, they follow a set of instructions, in essence each mod is merely an extension of RPM's coding skillz - they are neither good nor evil <deleted by="ic" reason="personal attack"/>
so i would never worry about clandestine operations performed by mods...
this thread is merely a 'glitch' in the system which i must say they recovered well from. and ajak can count his blessings that debbie v2.0 did not enter a for loop and accidentally pile a million infractions on him in one nano second.

Did you not read her letter to ICASA.
Here it is....I asked her and app she said yeah.
Dear ICASA,
Thanks for wasting everybody's time and efforts. Some people have poured their hearts and souls into this. The hearings provided conclusive evidence of gross abuses by Telkom in their ADSL service; Telkom was showed by industry players and consumers alike to be completely out of line with international practice. But you have chosen to ignore all evidence before you.
ICASA, I watched with my own eyes as your ADSL hearings panel gasped and spluttered at the number of submissions (446) sent in by the public, 99% of which begged ICASA for intervention. I watched as your panel struggled to elicit answers from Telkom at the hearings. I watched as you fought for clarity, and as your ADSL Hearings Chair called Telkom out on their lies they presented during the hearings. How quickly this has been forgotten.
ICASA, you can not claim ignorance. You know very well that what is happening in the ADSL service is totally out of line with the rest of the world. You know that ADSL is several TIMES cheaper even in Mozambique, Morocco, Senegal. You know how Telkom engaged in threats, abuses, and just general mismanagement of what is an integral part of the future of our economy- broadband internet. Yet you have chosen to ignore this.
When you next wonder why it is that there is a mass exodus of skilled professionals from our country, I advise you to look back on this debacle for your answer.
You have failed to implement your mandate. You have failed the citizens of South Africa. You have failed your country. You have failed multitudes of unemployed people. You have failed schoolkids. You have done nothing good here but pander to the biggest corporate criminal in our country's history. You know it, we know it, Telkom knows it.
It greatly saddens me that people outside of ICASA - ordinary, regular consumers - know more about the issues at stake than the supposed industry regulator. It saddens me that people on the outside of ICASA also DO more work (unpaid work) protecting and advising consumers than the supposed regulator. It angers me that I am one such person who has to step in to full the regulatory gap in this regard. It angers me that as of the end of the month, I will no longer be able to afford internet access and therefore I will no longer be able to continue doing YOUR job.
Thanks ICASA, for nothing.
