Just wondering what everyone else thought of this offer from iTalk,
you get 2 Motorola L6s, free minutes on the MyCall 100 and the R52 IBM Thinkpad.. only R349p/m! The Thinkpad alone is worth at least R7000!
Is this right? Has anyone gotten this deal?

I haven't checked prices for the laptop, but it is a really, really low-end model. And they wouldn't be offering it if they weren't desperate to get rid of them.

This is true! I am looking for basically the deal that Incredible Corruption had that i saw one time in a flyer and nowhere else. There was a toshiba lappy with very decent specs ( dvd writer, decent cpu, hdd and 512MB ram). It was free on a business call contract for R200 / month, with some or other phone which does not interest me.

I have not seen it since, nor anything like it...

I see Game offers a R3700 gift voucher on a business call contract. It might be better to get that and may the rest in cash. They have decent laptops starting at about R5500 or so....

'fraid not. I only follow that stuff once every 2 years :)

I use Vodacom (sadly) on their Family Topup contract thing, I don't like surprises on my bill and I don't make that many calls or SMSs.

I'd rather buy my own laptop, usually on a cellphone special like that, either tha laptop is low spec, or the phone you get is crap.

I'ts a nice deal if yuo've already got a nice phone you want to keep using and then you can sell the new crappy phone and keep the laptop :D

It is unfortunate that all the deals are using "old" stock and entry level machines.

When buying a laptop the golden rule is always to get the best you can as there are very upgrade paths for laptops. You are usually limited to more memory and whatever you can connect via the external ports.

1. No not really that hot. Not hot enough in any case.
2. Entry level will be fine for her.
3. On which page is that notjusttalk deal?

Or was that just talk?

The laptop I got from Vodacom/Incredible Corruption has decent specs for a first laptop. I am certainly very impressed with it.

Also, there is no way that they would give away top of the range brand new lappies with cellphone deals. It just isn't worth it financially.

The Toshiba that you get with the Business Call contract costs R6400 retail. The contract is R200 over 24 months plus a buy-in of R1500 means that you are only paying R100 more over the 24 months which is great in my opinion.

As for that notjusttalk deal, I keep asking for more info, as there is nothing on the site to that regard, but it does seem to be just talk...

That Vodacom/Incredible Erection deal is a good one, but I don't think she has 1500 bucks.

I see...Well for less money than that the machine is going to be very entry level. Like 256MB RAM type entry level :(

Who knows where I can get a decent 3G camera phone such as SE K800i or N72/N80 (that acts as a 3G modem) and a decent laptop on a R900 per month package?

Advise would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Gabriel

Now that is something i'd be interested in. The PS3 is launching on Friday and I wonder how long it'll take for the Cell SP'S to include that in the packages....
