View Full Version : Telkom Disconnect tone for Sipura/Linksys SPA 2001

Does anyone know the exact disconnect tone from Telkom, for use with a Linksys/Sipura VOIP interface like the SPA 3000 ?
At present, I have the following and it doesn't work at all :
Detect CPC: yes
Detect Polarity Reversal: yes
Detect PSTN Long Silence: yes
Detect VoIP Long Silence: yes
PSTN Long Silence Duration: 180
VoIP Long Silence Duration: 180
PSTN Silence Threshold: medium
low Min CPC Duration: 0.2
Detect Disconnect Tone: yes
Disconnect Tone: 425@-30,425@-30;1(.375/.375/1+2)

Hi Fred,
I have an spa 3000. The disconnect tone settings is
480@-30,620@-30;4(.25/.25/1+2)
Which seems to work.

It seems that the disconnect tone pattern in South Africa is 400Hz for 2.5 sec, followed by silence for 0.5 sec. I set up the tone script as 400@-30,400@-30;4(2.5/0.5/1).

I know it's a year later on this subject, but the tones specified by the previous members do not work for me. My frequency is and it works SPA 3102....: 400@-30,400;@-30;4(.5/.5/1+2)

South Africa has two zones - the North (old Transvaal, etc) use 400 Hz for 2.5 seconds, followed by silence for 0.5 seconds, repeated 4 times. The South (Cape) use 400 Hz for 0.5 followed by silence for 0.5, repeated as above. Essentially Telkom used different voice switches in the various regions

Do you have the full dial tone settings? Got a SPA400 and SPA9000 and I am struggling to dial out via the FXO ports and incoming from Telkom is also a problem. any help would be greatly appreciated.
