DVD Player can't play home burned DVDs

Mac DVD Player can't play back home burned (non-copy protected) DVDRs.
DVDs burned by Adobe Encore or Premiere Pro.
So I use VPC. Still it is a glitch.

In Windows, Imtoo DVD Ripper can't rip home made DVDs either.

I have used it with home burned DVD's a lot. There must be some other problem

Are the disks finalized ?
Also try Nero at the the slowest speed it will let you write.
And if you using DVD + R try -R's

Will they playback if you open DVD player, select Open DVD Media [cmd+O] from the File menu, and show it where the actual Video_ts folder is on the dvd?

The DVDs are finalised. They play perfectly in a variety of stand alone DVD players and on Windows machines. They are however not CSS encoded since
Adobe Encore DVD does not create CSS encrypted DVDs. The DVD-Rs in question are the Verbatim variety.
