Had a look on Vodacom's website and saw that it says that the BIS users get a 50Meg mail box for R139 per month. Normally you had to pay a R100 extra to go up from 25Meg to 50Meg. Logged on to my mailbox and saw that it still is on 25Meg. Phoned 155 and asked them what's happening
They have upgraded all the mail boxes to 50Meg at the end of the year. So the guys that were on 50Meg should not be paying the extra R100 anymore (Probably going to be a invoice nightmare). It also looks like the process did not upgrade all the mailboxes to 50Meg. So check your mailbox and ask them to upgrade if it is still on 25Meg.
Will all be irrelevant once they switch to BIS 2.1

For someone that needs to clear his mailbox everyday it will help a lot until one day when 2.1 arrives

Mine is still on 25mb.Why not auto forward to a gmail account and set your blackberry to auto age after a day?
My problem is that I use it a lot for testing mail etc. With your BIS mailbox the mail is instant. On a gmail account it is 10-15 min before BIS deliver the mail to your device. Another problem that is fixed in 2.1

Another problem that is fixed in 2.1There are a couple ways it might still help - if you auto forward everything from your bberry account to the gmail one you'll always have a copy of what was sent. That way you can auto expire the bberry copy immediately.
I route my private email addresses through a gmail account then auto forwarded on to my blackberry so the gmail acts as another spam filter layer. The day after it hits my bberry account it gets deleted. This way there is 0 delay as gmails auto forwarding is almost instantaneous.
and set your blackberry to auto age after a day?
Beat me to it ...

Is this upgrade to 2.1 going to finally give me the facility to do something about the spam I'm getting? I'm getting fed up with spammers mysteriously getting a hold of a email address that I havent given out to anyone.
absa-damn-lutely .... and not soon enough. :(
Although, touch wood (rubbing my skull :D ), mine seems to have died down.

 are these international only spammers, or are there some ZA types spamming you as well, and are these spam emails sent directly to your BB email address or do they slip through your GMail spam filter? Its hard to get any info without being able to look at the headers (which you cant do) but the spam seems international and they're going straight to my bberry account which isnt filtered. My account name (and email address) is too complicated for a dictionary type attack.
and it's mostly (entirely in my case) picture spam.
Bwana, you have PM

What I'm getting at, is maybe one of the people you've replied to from your BB, picked up a virus|malware somewhere sometime, which then compromised their address book [contacts] or harvested your BB's actual email address from an email received [from yourself] by this hypothetical person ...

The reply to and from both show my third party account. Its the same why as gmail does it when you have it set to spoof another address - many mail servers would bounce emails if they didnt.
