He will look after broadband and "virtual private network" (VPN) initiatives for the cellphone group.
Well done to Duncan for again being able to get the story first!

Let's hope he is not going to market Telkom's costing habits inside Vodacom.

This is good news but if Vodacom become too strong in broadband they will be able to slow down the rate of growth just as Telkom has, particularly since they also have IBurst in their pocket. Time for Sentech to take the gap!

So he never really left Telkom then?
Thats right. He and Papi knew that he was going to Vodacom all along and thats why they had the soppy departure routine for the media. Maybe telkom has planted him as a mole in Vodacom to spy on their broadband initiatives so that Telkom can always be a step ahead in protecting their Broadband Pie:D Just another conspiracy theory. You can decide for yourself. Hell if they all own eachother in some form or another then why all the fuss about competition:confused:
NB!!!!Please Mr Beelders, don't damage Vodacoms reputation by implementing Telkomlike Strategies. We know it all by now and it stinks!
So it's true, MTN is the only real independent in this country!!! I'm so glad my money goes to them!

What a crock of BS...
It reeks of insider bizness... rotten.com
"snaps up"... hardly, planned from the beginning more likely.

Yup Vodacom = Telkom. At least with Vodacom they have their partner Vodafone to keep them semi-honest.
My theory: If Telkom looses sat-3 exclusivity shortly, bandwidth costs can be expected to plummet. Bandwidth costs are probably the biggest contributor to wireless data costs. So in other words: without Telkom sat-3 exclusivity ADSL is in danger of becoming the niche market instead of wireless broadband.
Telkom is evil not stupid. I think they may be moving their prize eggs to safer baskets.
Or something like that. What do you guys think? Am I overly optimistic?

Haven't these guys heard of restraint of trade clauses??? Jeez, out of the honey pot and into syrup bowl :p
I just hope Telkom's policies stay at Telkom, don't want the plague to spread :D
