A very religious person told me this and I tried looking it up on the internet to find out if it's true. Couldn't find any reference to it in the Bible or on wikipedia. The only reference I found was on Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/Mary-Flesh-Blood-Biography-Virgin/dp/1582342369)

This made me thinking. Up to the 1900 marrying a girl when she was 13 was common place and today in some places it still is so why is it against the law in our society and even seen as pedophilia by our law that is based on Christianity.
Come on! Gays gain the rights to get married which is totally against what the Bible says and the Bible is one of the sources that our law is based on, so why don't you get anyone standing up for the rights of young girls getting married (without having to have parents consent) especially since the Bible is NOT against it?

I am really pissed at woman because all single woman I have met and I would want to start a relationship with say they have "been hurt in a relationship before". So in THEIR minds (not mine) they are “used goods” and thus don't give 100% to new relationships because they CANNOT forget the past. I wasn't the ******* who hurt them so why can't they get it through their heads!

Woman are full of ***** and I think those old pervs during biblical times were much smarter than us now by not giving woman rights and marrying them young. Women were probably much happier then. If they had a word for woman's lib in the Hebrew vocabulary during Biblical times then that word would probability be associated with sin or the devil!

We don't know how old mary was. In those times a woman would either get married young or nobody would want her. Joseph was betrothed to her at that time so she was probably around 13 years old. As to who the real sickos are you have no idea. As to your relationship if she doesn't want anything to do with you then respect that as it was respected in biblical times but tell her not to lie about why she wants to be single.

It doesn't surpise me that she was that age. It was common to get married early. In fact it is said that the word for Virgin also meant a girl who hadn't started her periods - which fits in nicely with the 'Virgin birth' idea.
