e220 huawei upgrade

anyone installed the huawei software on windows (and probably updated the firmware) and had problems with the device? it seems i have to do a connection to gprs first before i can connect to hsdpa. and once i connect under linux i get massive packet losses which i don't get under windows. i would recommend leaving the voda software on there and leave it as is.

i spoke too soon, all of a sudden it is working. i need to dial in a few times but eventually i get in. a few times i connected but got a dns of 10.11.12.13 and i could only ping some addresses and not others etc just wierd. anyway it is working for now. and being able to sms and topup my bundle without plugging the sim into a phone is cool (albiet from windows).
