can god have an oppisite ?

isnt it so that for oppisites to excist say A and F both of them have to come into existance exactly at the same time ?

if A creates F, then A had allready pre knowgede of F other wise how could A have cread F in the first place except if F is created as A was iether in lesser from or exact resemblance...

I think if you think God has an opposite, you miss the definition of the word "omnipotence"

Could an inanimate object be said to be the polar opposite of omnipotent, i.e it can do nothing as opposed to everything and anything?

@ Necuno If your definition of God includes the quality of omnipresence, i.e present at every point in space and time, then no, God can have no opposite at least not within space and time because everything within space an time would have to be a part of God.

I dont think so, as omnipotence would include the inanimate object as part of itself. If it was excluded, then the term omnipotence would no longer apply.

To my mind omnipotence implies the ability to do anything or, I suppose, the ability to be everything, not the actual doing or being of everything.

IOW if God is omnipotent (he'd have to be wouldn't he) then he could be everything but he doesn't have to be.

What is the opposite of Light? Darkness is just the absence of light. An absence or rejection of God will turn to evilness because if you reject him you are rejecting everything Pure, Holy, Righteous and Good.

Thanks for the dogma. We just don't get enough of it around here.

god != light vs dark

because how can god be omnipresent and absent at the same time ?

The only way for God to have an opposite is if there is an opposite to the entire universe and existence as we know it. So in theory, if we assume there is, then yes.

To continue the metaphor:
God = light. Evil = the absence of Light.
The Light is present, even though the sinners eye are shut. Since the sinner doesn’t open his eyes even though he is surrounded by light he says where is God and continues to grope about in the darkness.

There is an absence of Godliness in his life even though he is surrounded by it.

Can you be lonely in a crowd?
