All depends if the ads are covering the bandwidth costs.

Hi rpm and ic, and mods and super mods ;)
The title sounds like I'm being an ass, but I'm not. Is it possible that myadsl could be themed?
The layout of default VB is getting quite old, it's actually not fun at all.
Check out similar VB forums to see how good a theme could make the forum.
I've even started searching for you :p

Perhaps the 2nd option with the pics would be nice tera.
But me thinks that rpm already touched on this subject, saying that bandwidth was an issue...so I think its gonna be a no-go :(
The 1st option throws me off completely - more splashy around the forumites info than the content. It throws me off completely. I don't like those formats.

How about the OPTION to switch to a different theme in our user CP? The normal one can be shown by default and we can change the theme if we want so that the one we're using now is still shown by default to everyone.

ok, if anybody wants to replicate this, it is very easy now
go here:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2108
install the plugin, restart firefox
now, go to mybroadband.co.za (this site), and in the bottom right of your browser you will see the little stylish icon, click on it and select "find styles for this page"
it should only find one hit, the theme we have just done (mybroadband.co.za. darker theme colour changer)
select it and click on "load into stylish" button.
then just save it and refresh the page.
you can turn the theme on and off using the stylish control in the lower right corner of your browser.
can we please rate this thread so others become aware of this option.

i know buggerall about coding too:-)
i'm sure someone who knows what they are doing will look at my code and laugh, rightly so.
anyway, onto fonts..
have a look at this bit
@-moz-document domain("mybroadband.co.za") {
a:link {
color: #000099 !important;
}
}
@-moz-document domain("mybroadband.co.za") {
a:visited, body_avisited {
color: #000099 !important;
links and visited links if i remember correctly
then, get something like this
http://www.exefind.com/cool-color-picker-P4957.html
(lets you find out the value of any colour you currently have on your screen)
and then just substitute the value
what i did last night was to use colour picker on the normal site, find out the value of what i wanted to change...then do a "view, source" and do a "find..." to find the value, then try work out what code did what...changing values one at a time. haha, how laborious.
anyway,you should be able to take it from here and just experiment.

ja, i wanted to keep the blue, so it still looks like mybroadband
and the white at the top i felt was better to stay, to keep some focus on the adverts.
i mean, all can be changed, i just planted a seed..someone with more talent than me will come along and beautify it i'm sure. but i'm quite liking it like this. maybe will banish more white on the borders of some dialog boxes later on, whi knows.
Only things that have to be worked out is the smilies that you can see the white pixels around them against the grey background.
Also, being able to disable the extension with 2 clicks is perfect.

smilies and some of the buttons arent perfect, but i dont think i can change that..the underlying graphics have got spurious white borders (like the "quote" button)
it's quite cool, coz it takes just as many clicks to enable the stylish theme compared to changing from vb36 to mobi...so this has turned out to be a pretty elegant solution. i shouldve done this a long time ago.

Hey guys
Put this (http://userstyles.org/styles/4365) into the Firefox addon "Stylish" as discussed earlier in the thread, this one look pretty decent as a dark theme. Simply load it into Stylish and edit the 2nd line of the code from:
@-moz-document domain("forumserver.twoplustwo.com") {
to
@-moz-document domain("mybroadband.co.za") {
NOTE: I think some of the buttons and smilies load from an international site so I'm gonna try to edit it when I get time.

No thank you. Blue is the best colour.

Well done, that is not what the thread is about. :)
We can keep the blue colour scheme but we need a darker shaded theme. Have you ever used this forum at night with the lights off?

No not really feo...i guess i just hate change(I've had the same wallpaper and ringtone on my phone for almost a year now)
Maybe rpm should give those who want a different color scheme the option of picking one, like the bbc website.
Thats exactly what we're asking for cashmoney, an OPTION to switch to a darker theme. We don't want the current theme to be replaced.

Is mybroadband getting a new look in 2009 ?
for as long as i remember these forums have had this theme and a very plain look, is there an upgrade and maybe a change of theme planned for 2009 ?
And while the admin are at it, are we finaly getting poll posting options in the near future ? :rolleyes:

However . . . I do notice that the css is embedded into the page - will multiple themes have any negative effect as far as server load goes? Last thing we want are more server issues if we can help it.
