Wondered if anyone has been messed about by Bytes People Solutions (part of the Bytes Tech Group). I registered for Comptia Project+ in April 2007,they then pushed it to June (lack of numbers) , then Sept, then Oct, then Nov, now i get an email - January 2008.
I can understand the problem of not having numbers, but then why offer the damn course.
This sounds like a HelloPeter case to me.
Well if their website is anything to go by, they obviously know very little about IT.

Oh - you'll see in the PM I worked in Bryanston - but they have a branch in Cape Town, Durban and Bloemfontein too. I'm not sure how often they CPT branch there Comptia courses though :/

Dolby, many thanks for that, i tried them a few months back, they told me straight they dont offer it, but they are the most helpful bunch ive ever come across and tried to point me in the right direction. They admitted they dont offer because of the low numbers (dont we have project managers in CTN) , unlike Bytes who takes your money and run.

Yip they are pathetic at the best of times. They phoned me once, asking em to help them, as they had a client that wanted advise on a data warehouse solution. And I work for a rival company!!!
They wanted to sell the guy a sql server 2005 solution with intel boxes. And this is a company that have terrabytes of data that need to go to a data warehouse

Ya, I'm looking for some extra courses to take, but at the moment I'm undecided on what to do. :(
Want to do something in the line of computer security, anybody able to help, or give ideas?
TIA

its called skills shortage
Its called idiotic, thats what it is, anyone even uttering intel and sql server for a DW that runs into terabytes, should be stripped, covered in poo and dragged out into the street for people to point at and laugh

what does that DW contain , the number of people that think they offer **** service, no wonder it runs into terabytes.

Well a daily transfer of a terrabyte was one, they did not tell me who the client was, but when they started mentioning "sukkel" server, I immediately told them to stop, and really reconsider, a day only has 24 hours not enough time to load a days run

I remember getting a quote for a data storage solution from Bytes and it was ridiculously expensive, not to mention the quote was a huge copy and paste job in word with 10 different fonts etc. Then I remember seeing them on one of the careers websites and they were offering peanuts so I'm not surprised by anything else that goes on. I see they have a massive building in JHB. I think their only claim to fame is vodacoms data storage.

I must make mention of the fact , that Bytes came back to me and offered the course just for myself, as they did not have the numbers.
A definate worthwhile course, just a pity too many Cape Tonians are not doing it.
Many thanks to the guys at Bytes who sorted this issue out.
