As an amateur radio licence holder I often wonder why the SARL non-members do not start a new body to represent them at government level? If I observe all the problems like Radio Regulations Errors, internal politics and infighting on their website forums www.sarl.org.za, then I would like to propose that we start a new body in opposition to the SARL to represent non-members at government level, ICASA and DOC, accordingly becoming a national body in terms of the amended radio regulations. ...

I wonder if anyone is aware of this error. I have tried unsuccessfully since 2004 to receive a reply from ICASA around this problem. In 2004 I painted out this error to Mr M. Mchunu of ICASA and Mr P. Mshomi of DOC and in spite if this the regulations were promulgated with this error which has some serious practical implications for all operators and leave a sense of not being property thought through before promulgation in 2004.
