Epic Beard Man

Epic Beard Man, also known as Epic Beard Guy, EBM, Vietnam Tom, Tom Slick and Thomas Bruso, rose to internet fame on the 16 February 2010 after his involvement in a violent incident on a public bus was uploaded to Youtube. It is rumoured EBM is 67 years old and a Vietnam war veteran.

To fully understand why Epic Beard Man is epic the following video has to be watched. This video is not safe for work, children or sensitive viewers.

A brief description of the video is as follows. EBM is engaged in conversation with an African-American man (affectionately nicknamed Tyrone). EBM jokingly asks Tyrone to "spit polish" his shoes at which point Tyrone takes offense. The gentlemen exchange insults before EBM moves to the front of the bus, away from Tyrone. Tyrone, possibly trying to impress the female cameraman, follows EBM and continues trash talking. As Tyrone is on his way back EBM voices an insult of his own. The entire time spectators have been encouraging Tyrone with the exception of one girl who doesn't seem to care. Tyrone, not wishing to lose face, attempts to strike EBM. EBM proceeds to beat Tyrone into a pulp and is subsequently thrown off the bus. Tyrone requests an ambulance but, possibly due to dialect or facial injuries, it appears he actually requested M&M's or Amber Lamps. The video ends with the cameraman stealing EBM's bag before announcing Tyrone can press charges as she has evidence.

The video went viral very quickly possibly for the following reasons:

• EBM is really old
• EBM has a beard
• Tyrone was extremely cocky and was cut down to size
• The cameraman declared Tyrone could press charges as she has a video
• There is a girl on the bus who appeared to be in her own world- she has been affectionately nicknamed "Amber Lamps"
• The cameraman stole EBM's bag and was told to go through it
• EBM was wearing a shirt captioned "I am a mother****er"
• The video ends by panning over a bus bench ad saying "Do your part. Keep our city clean and safe."

Anonymous soon heard about EBM's victory and made it their mission to return his bag. Within minutes, the cameraman was identified as Iyanna Washinton and her address, phone number and online details were made public. After enduring much harassment she released an insincere apology the following day. EBM was also identified and received phone calls of encouragement. Amber Lamps is currently unidentified although she has been the subject of a lot of interest.
