Hi

Just bought this used car for my dad..2012 model

The steering feels funny ...almost moves by itself!
I dont know if its the alignment or a suspension problem...car apparently was not in an accident according to dealer (how to confirm this)

Anyone else with this issue?

Now when I try start it, it just doesn't want to turn over. It feels like it gets close, but just won't take. I have checked the battery and fuel, both seem fine. I have tried push starting it and jump starting it as well.

Any other suggestions as to what it might be or how to solve it.
Thanks.
Car is worth around R135k judging by the other listings online, so maybe the expense isnt that big when looking at it like that

Having people say they are "extremely" interested and then never call again also sucks :/

http://www.iol.co.za/motoring/indust...4#.UZsWGNi7_lc

Electronics company Cisco - which, let us not forget, has a vested interest in pushing the adoption of new technology - has released the results of a customer experience report based on a survey of 1500 drivers across 10 countries.

The question were focused on the car buying and driving experience, technology preferences, trust in future automotive innovation and how car manufacturers can use those preferences to provdidec a more personal driving experience.

From buying a car to servicing, customers are using more advanced communications technologies - cellphones, texting, interactive websites etc. - to deal with manufacturers and dealers. About half (47 percent) take the reputation of a brand for being technology-savvy into account when choosing a car.

RESEARCHING THE WEB

Drivers around the world are keen to see technology-driven advances in personalising their car, safety, and time and cost savings; drivers in Brazil, China and India were the most willing to provide information in their driving habits to save time and money, and would probably be more receptive to driverless cars.

Most customers begin the process of buying a car online: 83 percent of buyers worldwide prefer to do their research online rather than walk into a dealership and ask questions. Conversely, car salespeople need to realise that five out of six customers now know as much as - or more than - they do about their product before they even shake hands.

The good news, however, is that 61 percent of them will actually go to the manufacturer's website for primary information, and 78 percent of them trust what they see online.

TRACKING COSTS

Car drivers, it seems, want to be able to track costs from their vehicles - lowest insurance premiums, availability of roadside assistance, recall information - but the highest percentage of respondents (52 percent) wanted to know where they could get the lowest fuel price, underlining the fact that South Africa is unusual in having regulated fuel prices.

Even more (62) percent said they would buy a device that could keep track in real time of their monthly fuel and maintenance budgets. And 74 percent would allow their driving habits to be monitored to save on insurance or servicing costs.

Sixty percent were happy to provide fingerprints or DNA samples for personalised car security (now that's a scary thought!) and 65 percent would share personal information such as height or weight, driving habits and entertainment preferences if this meant they could get a more personalised car.

AND FINALLY

More than half of the drivers polled (57 percent) said they would be prepared to ride in an autonomous car, especially Brazilians (96 percent) Indians (86 percent) and Chinese drivers (70 percent). But consumer trust dropped to 46 percent when asked if they would let their kids ride in driverless cars, in particular drivers Japan, France, and Germany, where only six percent would let their children ride in an autonomous car.

I'm just curious about something.
I got my car in December last year and well, it's looked after etc but I am thinking of getting a new car.
What I'm keen to know about is - how do I do this, what is the steps to follow?

I don't quite have a deposit, but I want to trade my car in, I'm looking at getting a Toyota range of vehicles - not the high end, the lower end like the Corolla or whatever.
My monthly repayments are like, R1700± and my insurance is like R800 and I can afford I think to spend a bit more (R400 ±) and maybe get a new vehicle or maybe a 2nd hand one but with low mileage.

I'm just curious to know all the steps etc.
I'm sure it's alot to type, but whomever helps - you know I appreciate it.

I don’t care about fuel efficiency or fancy gadgets inside the car, just that it has a good engine.
I cycle to campus and only go home once every 4 weeks (pta->jhb) so I put very little km's on my car at the moment (maybe about 5k a year)

Have always liked the look of the clio sport and like the fact that it is N/A.
Found this online and called the garage, they said the car is still available and is in very good condition

http://www.autotrader.co.za/used-car...3eb1a8ada35bf0

anyone know if the cars engine will still be reliable with this amount on km on it? Or if the car is going to cost me a **** load of cash to maintain?

Any advice welcome.

MONTREAL— It sounds unusually categorical: easyJet Airline Co., it appears, is about to order some CSeries airliners from Bombardier Inc., perhaps at the Paris air show next month.

The order could come as part of a huge order from the British low-cost carrier based at London’s Luton Airport for more than 100 jets from Airbus SAS or Boeing Co. — and Bombardier. It would break the single-aircraft-type model for the budget airline, now the biggest in the U.K. in terms of passengers carried, that now flies only Airbus A319s and A320s. The CSeries competes head-on with the A319, but also indirectly with the A320.

In a teleconference call after quarterly results, easyJet chief executive officer Carolyn McCall said that “our future order will be for Airbus or Boeing, but also for Bombardier (aircraft).”

Bombardier Aerospace spokesperson Marc Duchesne confirmed his company is negotiating with easyJet, but said he could not provide any details of those talks.

“We’re talking with them as we are with many, many other airlines about the CSeries, the best aircraft for the next 25 years,” Duchesne said.

The airliner’s first flight is due by the end of June. President Pierre Beaudoin and Bombardier Aerospace president Guy Hachey declined to specify after the company’s recent annual meeting of shareholders the timing of the first flight — whether it will be before the air show at Le Bourget between June 17 and 23, during that trade show, or after.

Bombardier can’t fly the CSeries to the Paris air show for various regulatory reasons, but a maiden flight from Mirabel televised live to a captive audience at the Paris event would be a show-stopper — a huge publicity boon, as well as a long-awaited milestone for airlines that have not stormed the gates to buy the aircraft in full-scale development since 2008.

It would not be the first time a discount carrier moves away from the single-type fleet pioneered by Southwest Airlines, which also flies B717s.

EasyJet is diversifying from its pure low-cost model to attract higher-paying business travellers.

Its 138 Airbus 319s seat 156 passengers, while the CSeries’ CS300 model will seat up to 160 people — upped recently by Bombardier from the original limit of 149 seats.

EasyJet is apparently interested in the 150-seat and below, a niche neither Airbus nor Boeing serve.

Benoit Poirier of Desjardins Securities wrote in a report that the CSeries, which is designed to cut fuel costs by 20 per cent over comparable existing airplanes, would be applied to thinner routes and city airports in Europe.

“We believe Bombardier’s new plane would be a good fit due to the superior efficiencies of the CSeries,” Poirier said.

“We suspect the announcement could be made at the upcoming Paris Air Show.”

Air Canada is also poised to put out requests for proposals to replace its more than 100 narrowbody aircraft this year, and Poirier expects the CSeries to be in the mix.

The orders could provide a needed boost to Bombardier’s lacklustre stock performance.

This could be just the boost that the CSeries order book needs. I hope it comes through.

The transunion check brings up a blank with the VIN number - they don't have it on their database - I assume that just means it's never been financed.

Any help appreciated!
