The below shows todays' recommended updates .. and is typical of the many updates found every couple of days. I check for updates manually, and do not allow auto-update. I have unchecked the updates related to IE as I use Chrome as my browser.

Is it really necessary to regularly update all the files as suggested in the image below?

Each of them has pastel Express 11.3.1 installed with pervasive work group 10.

All pc's can see the server and open the company files from the server, but I have to add the companys each morning. Once pastel has closed and reopend I have to add the company again.

Here is what happens, PC A = Server PC B = Workstation, so if i open the company file on the server I browse to C:\Express11\company file and it opens, on PC B I browse to the network drive Z:\company file and it opens. Now when I go back to the server, close pastel and open it again the company is missing, when I click on manage under my server the company file is there with a red cross, when I click on it,it shows me the path to the company file witch then changed to Z:\company file witch is the path of PC B.

So what happen is everytime a company file is open on a pc, all other PC's somehow copy's that path.

I opened my music player (foobar) & played the song at the top of the playlist. Music plays.

~2 seconds later I hear the hard disk on which the music is stored powering up. Meaning that Windows superfetch predicted I'd play exactly that song & loaded it into memory for good measure. NB computer and music player had both been started fairly recently, so it wasn't in memory from previous plays.

I know superfetch is *supposed* to do that, but somehow it was still impressive seeing that it at work flawlessly and isn't all marketing. :)

This guy we hire sometimes to fix our pc's decided that cause this woman that sits next to me started downloading toolbars and stuff on her computer he blocked all our computers from installing stuff.

Now where it get's worse is she got annoyed that she could not install a program so she called him and he then gave her admin privilages through the network...

So now I'm stuck needing to install some stuff for work and I cannot get in let alone talk to this guy so I was wondering if anyone knows if I could use her computer to give myself admin privileges on my pc if so how, or any other way around it...

My company has run into a bit of a dilemah, Microsoft are hounding our clients for these audits they want done and most of our clients are based away from thier headoffices. iv been trying to make a simple script that pulls the details of the pruduct keys from the pc, and upload it to a FTP. i had no problem with trials on my pc but the minute i went to companys that block ftps etc etc i had to come with a solution.

Is there a way i can pull the product key result and then maybe email it to our audit email addy?
