Been wondering when they'll be offering voice and broadband services. Anybody have any ideas when I can dump Telkom and try them?

just after duke nukem forever is released

Even when they do come into play one thing you can be sure of is that when the dust settles we'll have 2 useless providers.

As for them been competition to telkom.......yeah right!!!

neotel?? NEOTEL!!!! hell I forgot about neotel. I must be going mad.

Anyone remember GTS and GOAL??? :D ha ha ha

As Neotel's chief executive, I would be holding secret meetings with Telkom's chief executive to plan a strategy of price fixing and market domination by two players.

Of course, this is SA so that would never happen :D

IIRC, they were going to make an announcement in January about when they plan on announcing that they're going to announce when consumer offerings will be available. I'm not 100% sure, could have left out an announcement or two so please feel free to correct me ;)

Yesterday while driving home, I say the guys from Neotel lying cables. I was driving down lever road in midrand (Between olifantsfontein and samrand), and they were busy next to the road.

So maybe they are starting slowely but surely, or maybe their MD needed ADSL and he lives in that area

I don't think that was Neotel, there was quite a few Rand Water vans standing around, lying those yellow / orange pipes, the same as the Telkom green ones.

Well there was asign stating..."Neotel at work, sorry for the inconvenience"

I've heard from people in the industry that neotel is laying TONS of cable all over the place. i have no idea what that means for the average consumer, but there you go....

They are all over Durban busy with cables. This creates huge canyons in intersections after rain.
