Has anyone tried sending .IPA's over to another iPhone from your iTunes? fxit, i'm guessing you've tried this? Does it give any errors or do the apps transfer perfectly?

Do you think it will work if you do iton your own pc, but log in with say your friends iTunes account details, download the apps again? Think they will stay?
Pls tell me how to remove my themed wallpaper fdom Customize on 1.1.4 that I backedup? Can I ssh it out or something? Nothing I apply replaces it. Thx
Is this your 2.0 phone having this problem?
Using the backup feature with customized phones is not a good idea in my opinion.
You could try ssh but in my opinion it's best to only backup your contacts(sync to PC) and do a clean restore with a pwned IPSW, sync back your information(don't use backup) your Appstore apps will be synced back if you keep them on your PC.
What Would Good Guy Lucifer Do?
Yeah, just copy the app folder to the other PC then use iTunes to add it to to the library... you might be requested to enter the account details to take ownership though.
EDIT:
I upgraded yesterday and had to copy my apps from my previous PC what I did was..
Copy the "mobile application" folder to my iTunes folder > Add the folder to library using iTunes.
iTunes preferences > General > Select "Applications"
Click the Application library icon to display apps on PC > Edit>Select all > click on selected applications > pop-up will appear and enter account info to authorize.
Sync

Thx Dobee. I did a fresh restore, no backup restore just sync, all well.
I upgraded my SO's iPhone from 1.1.4 to 2.0.1 today using winpwn. Here is some quick feedback: I had made a backup using winscp as suggested by fxit. It was the first time I messed with ssh, and it took me a short while to realise that when the autolock kicked in sshd shut downWith that out of the way I pulled of all the folders I needed. I also copied off the mail folder.
I followed the guide on bigboss. Got through all the steps including DFU restore mode. I was offline at the time and could only get to the restore screen after iTunes had checked the update server.
Bootneuter and baseband hacks went quickly and the phone came up no problems. The first thing I did was upgrade Cydia and everything that was available to upgrade. I then installed bigboss prefs, sshd and copied everything back. I reset the ownership on Notes and Mail to mobile as those had not existed after the restore using a putty session.
Everything worked flawlessly except a few small things. For the mail I had to re-enter the password again under the settings before it worked. I also found that if I went to contacts from the phone app it was blank. If I used contacts directly everything was listed. I then created a new contact and then went back to the phone app contact list and they all appeared again. The APN settings were set to iphone.vodacom.za. I changed this back to internet and rebooted. I notice that were before you had a blue block with an E in, it's now just a white dot.
I have installed a few apps from the store for her and so far everything is running smoothly![]()

Possibly creating a new contact fixed the permissions. I noticed that while I copied over 2 files there was only one to replace after the restore. Which then makes sense as the second file (AddressBookImages.sqlitedb) would have been owned by root.
Thanks, your ssh tip was a really good one.
Transfer files to your iPhone at high speeds (No SSH required)
MUCH quicker than SSH as it transfers the files over USB!
You will just need to set permissions using WinSCP / Putty if needed as this program cant do that (as far as i know)
This uses USB rather than Wi-Fi and is therfore much faster.
Full tutorial with all files needed here - http://code.google.com/p/t-pot/wiki/InstallationSo far, it allows to
* transfer files/directories between the iPhoneand the PC
* move files/directories between the iPhone and the PC
* remove files/directories from the iPhone
* create directories on the iPhone
* PNG image conversion
* binary PLIST file conversion
Plus all the associated functionalities in TC (comparing files, searching directories, compressing/decompressing files, ...).
I use nothing else to transfer my files to the iPhone now!
Note: If your iPhone does not get picked up sometimes by Total Commander, unplug , and plug in the USB cable and try and access the iPhone (T-Pot) again!
Give it a try!!

Hey guys.. Just thought id share some apps that i found useful for firmware 2.0.1
Cydia:
-iReboot: Reboot and respring your iPhone at the touch of a button (Respring does take longer since firmware 2, so dont think it's just you)
-MiVTones: Awesome app that sets video as your ringtone! I have viva la vida from Coldplay as my Videotone at the moment!(Note: Upload videos to /var/mobile/Media/VideoTone/Video. Set videotone volume while previewing the video in Settings, MiVtones - that's the volume the video will play/ring at). Also make sure to reboot after install
Here are some packs to start with:
Viva La Vida - http://www.zshare.net/download/14608887531c9007/
Pack 1 - http://www.zshare.net/download/14592416aff5007a/
Pack 2 - http://www.zshare.net/download/1663883207a418b9/
-Safari Download Plugin: Allows you to download files such as .mp3 / .zip etc using your Safari browser. Files are saved to /var/mobile/Library/Downloads/
-WinterBoard: While you wait for SummerBoard to be ported over. Can set Winterboard and SUmmerboard themes on 2.x. You can find lots of themes on Cydia.
-WbApp: Provides a theme preview for your SummerBoard and Winterboard themes (as Winterboard doesnt support this yet), and also allows you to configure the themes (as Winterboard only sets the theme)
Hope u find these helpful![]()

Interesting - my email accounts would never sync, had to manually create them. Since the new restore today without restoring backup, it synched fine, but also bad to enter passwords manually.
I have to be honest, I havent had any problems with Cydia, was really expecting the worst from it from everything I read! I did have the upgrade hang this afternoon, but rebooted phone, and no issues since - thx for the info fxit. It does take some getting used to the new Installer!
