Need house for 21st at end of June

Hi.

I am looking to rent a house for 3 days (day before to prepare, the day of and day after to clean up).

The house must preferably be empty (such as between tenants), or otherwise the owner must lock up all valuables, and clean out the lounge and dining room as much as possible as I do not want to be held responsible for breakages or theft. The house must also preferably be unoccupied for the 3 days I am there, otherwise if the owner is around ... he must give me a nice birthday present

The areas I am looking in is areas around or close to Sandton/Melrose/Waverly/Highlands North/Norwood/Oaklands.

The reason I am looking for a house is I cannot afford the high costs of venues ... I don't want to spend more than R500 for the 3 days ... and I do not live in a house so I cannot have my 21st at home.

The house must preferably have a fair sized garden as well as a fair sized lounge and/or dining room.

The dates I am looking for the house will either be the last week of june or the first week of july on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

There will be lots of noise on the Saturday night, so this must not be a problem.

On a more serious note, you will never find a venue for R500 these days that is suitable for what you are after - especially in those areas. You need to be prepared to spend a bit more than that as I doubt your inbox is going to be flooded with people willing to rent you their house - I wouldnt! Seriously man, loan, beg, borrow, do what you can but you are going to have to spend more. How many you guests are you expecting?

Not too many ... 30 - 50 ... but the problem is I live in a townhouse, so I can't have it here ... and my total budget for my whole 21st is like R3000 ... and thats pushing it ... so I need to find a cheap venue. I suppose if I have it for Saturday morning to Sunday afternoon, that will also be fine.

Well I'm hoping someone who rents out houses and who doesn't have anyone staying in their house of that period will read this ... because they normally charge like R5000 for a month ... so what I'm offering is market values.

We rent out our beach house...R800 a day compared to R5k a month for 3+months. You can't compare short term and long term. Good luck though, I know I wouldn't EVER rent out my house for a 21st. Vomit doesn't come out of carpets very easily.

But that's for day to day living - the mess that comes with a 21st is a different story. Even though you set aside a day to clean up, I doubt that it will be the same as when you arrived.

I think that you might have to offer at least R1500. Try and think of other ways to save. Ask family and close friends if they can help you out with things like food and drinks because that's where most of the budget is spent.
