Download problem from tucows

Hi There

Not sure if this is an adsl related problem but ever since I have adsl I am unable to download any files from the site.

When i click on the download file button, it says connecting to 127.0.0.1 in the status bar.

I know that that ip is my local machine, any help would be cool.

Networking Issue....

Dont know if you folks resolved this issue. I had similar problem with some sites. All I did was delete the hosts file in my Windows directory. It had one entry "127.0.0.1 localhost".
That after i read close to 20 or more google searched sites and forums on the subject. I tried, a custom shdoclc.dll available at some sites (couldnt get it to load); reinstalling the TCP/IP protocol; i repaired IE and downloaded a number of security fixes ( apparently MS's mysql server had a security vulnaribility); changed my proxy and security/privacy settings; uninstalled and reinstalled my firewall; ran adware and a spybot; installed alternative web browsers, non worked. I ended up here at the MS Knowledge Base http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;EN-US;241344. heres mention of checking out the hosts files and i simply removed it wallala im back in business [:D]
