That Toshiba C660 with the i5 is quite a bargain, even though it is R4000 ex VAT. I'd love to know how long its warranty is though. Hopefully more than 1 year.

Yeah, its LCD, not LED. Would still go for a Hisense 55 inch LED instead

They ARE LED backlit. Buddy, you can't afford a 46" OLED TV with amount your house is worth. You'd have to be smoking quite a large amount of crack to rather go for a HiSense than one of these, even if they're slightly older models.

Its edge lit LED. And you right, no one can afford OLED, that is insane. i meant that its not a full back lit LED. Why should you stay away form Hisense? I was looking to get one for my next TV. (Sorry for off topic)

How does that one rate? It seems like a crazy discount, crazy not to put an option to it.

    What do you think?

I have never seen a C-grade manufacturer produce decent picture quality. The panel on that Samsung, being 3D-capable, 200Hz will probably destroy whatever's in that HiSense.

The Hisense 55" LEDs are edge-lit...

The problem with edge lit is that you don't get local dimming. Unfortunately, everybody's using it now for thin-ness. I'd love to compare a new edge-lit Samsung with a new LED backlit Philips or something else with local dimming. The local dimming TVs used to destroy edge-lit on blacks and contrast (not numbers, actual side-by-side comparisons).
    Anybody looked into this recently?

    (Sorry for OT)
