Hi

If anyone working in neotel or knows someone who is can you please tell me if theres going to be a uncapped prime as the uncapped lite is way to slow? i dont mind paying R1000-R1200 because thats what i pay at the moment . thats for a 4mb line which only goes to 2mb , and a 4mb unshaped and 40gig local after from telkom allaccess o yeah dont forget the prepaid gigs i buy everymonth which works out to about a extra R500 so im spending about R1700 a month on adsl , maybe neotel can help me and others like me out?

R1000 - R1200 is too expensive considering what speeds you get overseas and its uncapped for a fraction for that price. Now, knowing this is south africa, a nice starting point would be R600 - R700 for a Prime Uncapped offering!

im not sayings its not expensive but look at the other prices , so im happy with that price since i pay that currently

Nope... Uncapped R500.. max... lose all the "bundled" nonsense.. and we shouldn't be happy with a slight reduction in telscums fees, we want and demand a DRASTIC reduction since we know how much Telscum have been profiteering over the last decade.

Hell yeah!

Why can't they prove themselves to be a dynamic breath of fresh air into the market!

So for NeoInternet, I have to have a Neophone with a 1000 free mins which are of no use?

Why can't they simply just give us access to bandwidth!?!?!?!

Yea, I am guessing the free minutes do not carry over... then I would have 1000's of hours of free calls :D

Seconded.

Trust me on this, I won't be using any fixed line providers free minutes or anything like that.

I have one single point of contact and that is my cellphone and Neotel won't be able to change that.

I just want internet access from them, nothing else.
As for comparing them to IS, there is one major difference between IS and Neotel. Neotel have their own network and do not have to pay Telscum those exorbitant fees for links.

AMEN TO THAT!

AMEN TO THAT!

i see your point but this is just some of their 1st packages , they did say they are going to put the backbone to use and put fixed lines which means ADSL instead of wimax in the feature from neotel , but iv waited long and going to takes this for the time being since neotel told me they will upgrade me in the feature for a small fee which i dont mind

See... I am no longer the complacent typical SA consumer, like you seem to be..

If they're going to release a product to launch with, it better be something to wow me with.. and what I've seen does nothing to wow me in the slightest.

And if I take their highest product now and they release something later, they will upgrade me for free or lose my business to another company.. and I won't be locked in to 24 month contracts. I will accept nothing but world-class service and products and world-comparative prices anymore. Yes I'm just one person but eventually everyone will start doing the same thing and these useless companies milking us will HAVE to change their business practices.

they said even if u in the contract they will upgrade u to a different package

matrixweb you're totally missing the point..

Neotel are here now, and they need to please their potential customers, not just offer the same regurgitated rubbish that every other SA company does....

and since I know what goes on internationally, and that Neotel are part-owned by a large multinational telecoms company, I expect international standards.. not SA standards... and I will voice that opinion and do my bit to attempt to educate other consumers of the same.

Contracts are unnacceptable... We do not want bundled rubbish... and 10gbs per month is not acceptable as a high end product.

i get what you saying but to me this is a going in a good direction

Its not going in a good direction at all..

They're displaying every aspect of what is WRONG with the telecommunications industry in this country, and they are price gouging so if they can get away with it so early on, it will just get worse and worse as times goes on...
