I would rather bite a chunk out of my shoe than buy a R2000 modem for Neotel. Weren't they supposed to provide ADSL as well?

It would be really cool if you could get ADSL with the same uncapped deal from them.

And at those slower line speeds you would get far more reliable speeds from ADSL. None of this maybe x stuff!

Which comes later in 2008.

I doubt they'll roll out DSL to many places. WiMax will be fine with their caps and prices.

Perhaps they're waiting for LLU before they do ADSL? From their perspective, I'm sure there are a number of major advantages to using LLU, rather than being an ISP on Telkom's ADSL network (which is what they'd have to do now):
- less scope for Telkom's margin squeeze tactics
- ability to use a better backhaul network
- ability to introduce ADSL2+ and/or SDSL services

What about Fibre DSL? I see they planting fibre cables along all the roads lately and creating potholes everywhere!

they said all will come out later , but i think we would get copper to home of that fibre

There's no such thing as "Fibre DSL". All types of DSL are provided over copper wire.

One can put a DSLAM in a box on the pavement, and connect that DSLAM to the rest of the network via fibre, but the DSL lines from the DSLAM to the houses would still be on copper wire.
