I’m not looking for an argument here, but could someone please help me understand something:
Went to corner 7/11 café for a bottle of wine. It was late, bottle stores are closed – don’t normally buy it from said shop as is rip off, but good for emergencies and we were having people over and no wine in the house.
Whahaha, no wine! Ask person at till what happened to the wine, answer “been taken over by Muslims”. = no wine, no bacon etc
OK fine. But I cannot for the life of me understand something:
If the owner is Muslim – (nowhere to be seen and his employees certainly are not) and wine is against his religion, that’s fine, each for their own – But he doesn’t have to drink the frikkin stuff for heavens sake!
I don’t like his girly mags he’s got on sale either but it’s a free country and I don’t have to buy them afterall.
And by not selling to me is he going to convert me or prevent me from getting it anywhere else? I’m just inconvenienced and have to drive further (although it was too late last minute stuff last night) – so he managed to get a non believer to go for one night without any wine. Does he really think by not selling wine he will put people off drinking?
What is the point? What are they trying to achieve? The only thing this guy is achieving is to p1ss his customers off big time….and what economic sense does that make? I never noticed it before as I buy wine so seldom from a café, but boy was I angry and vowed never to go back.
Don’t turn this into a fight – just help me understand why this is so, that’s all I’m asking.
I know how touchy these threads can get. But perhaps if I understood, I wouldn't be so angry about it.
