    Default Ultimate Edition 1.8

Hey guys I think most of you know that there is a ultimate edition. I was wondering of you you guys think about it. They have a newly release version 1.8 that is based on Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy Heron. It looks really cool and easy cause it's got most of the appz already installed. Here is some screenshots of how it looks. I just made a local mirror of all the screenshots here.

    ftp://ftp.uunet.co.za/pub/incoming/c...0edition%201.8

Here is some info and download links from their website. It's a pitty that they only have international download mirrors so if any one owns a VPS please could you upload it to the local ftp uunet

    Ultimate Edition 1.8?

Ultimate Edition 1.8 is built based off Ubuntu Hardy Heron, unlike previous biulds which were created by a tool called reconstructor I built this one by hand. it is by far my best work. I am releasing both a 32 bit & a 64 Bit edition. Hotrod is a fitting name for it, if you have a 64 bit processor I highly recommend the 64 bit edition. I can not stress how important that it is to torrent this release. We do have mirrors in route to try and take the load off, please, please torrent after you get it.

This release was built from scratch using Ubuntu Hardy Heron LTS with all the goodies pre-added, you have came to love with previous editions & a few new ones.

I would like to take the time to point out that the usplash is fully carried through after installation (the dragon). I have added a new sound scheme. I highly suggest you take the time to register on our forum there is a wealth of information to be obtained there. I suppose I should also point out I have made an online F.A.Q. more elaborate then can be found through the websites. Updating pages takes way too much of my time writing in html / css after all I am 1 MAN.

I have to say this linux is awesome. its now my primary and only OS on my pc. Its really nice. So pain free. Everything you need can be installed by just one click. I would say if any one is considering linux for the first time this is the distro you should use!

Awesome. Does it come with most of the software on the ISO? I've got a few friends ripe for linux conversion, but they don't have decent internet connections...
