Guys - the then Neotel rep said that the company is constantly reading this forum. Lets give them a [realistic] list of what you want to see from neotel - interms of internet/products/voice/mobility/service etc. Realistic list please.

Take it away!

A CDMA router with an ethernet port. Preferably with a cordless phone as well so the phone and the router aren't in the same place.

Give me this and I will switch tomorrow.

Good latency...
Use of phone & internet
Faster speed
Internet only options

listen, neotel

whats with the 24 month contracts?
- im in Durban & eagerly waiting for coverage but these 24 month contracts are making me have 2nd thoughts.
theoretically, if u begin offering services now & i sign up -i will only end my contract in June 2010?
by then or before im sure that there will be some better offers coming up- even from u guys.what with all the submarine cables being laid.
so what- im supposed to be stuck with paying the same price and/or getting the same speed internet?

& unshaped/uncapped internet for a decent price(not decent compared to telkom, decent compared to Japan)- i use Kazaa P2P - i hope u dont mess me around- i will have a min of 40Gb monthly download.thats what i used to do with my Dial-up line- and i only used it during call-more time.
PLEASE DONT LIE ABOUT THE DOWNLOAD SPEEDS
AND WHATS WITH THIS DEPOSIT NONSENSE
PLEASE STATE THE AMOUNT REQUIRED AS DEPOSIT FOR EACH OPTION/PACKACKAGE CLEARLY AND BOLDLY.

and the issues that the guys above me raised.

there, that should do it.

thanks

- Ethernet connectivity
- Alternative hardware options
- more diverse packages, i.e. Internet only
- signal boosters (antennas, idiots)
- Month-to-month contracts, see point 2... no prob then.
- Coverage map(!!!!!), with list of areas currently being worked on, and list of future areas to be covered.
- A f*cking forum rep! (with fingers, that can at least do the 2-finger stab to reply a bit to posts)
- A built-in cappuccino maker in any piece of useless, outdated hardware that costs R2000+ (add it next to the ETHERNET PORT)
- Fire your idiot that apparently did all the extensive research, or lied about doing it to the potential client-base.

Ethernet router.
Concurrent voice and data - or a cheaper "internet" only package with no voice.

oh - a REPRESENTATIVE on this forum with the ability and power to respond to complaints / suggestions.

To perform and really... I mean ... really compete. Give us what Telkom denies us. ie true broadband.

It seems they are indeed trying to compete with Telkom. So far they have nailed:
communication (avoid)
products (bad)
promises (broken)
roll-out (slow)

:D

I would like:

  1. An Ethernet Device
  2. More device options
  3. An Internet only package
  4. No 24 month contract
  5. A rep of the forum who answers questions and gets stuff done!

1. Ethernet device
2. Device that I can plug my analogue phone into
3. More device options
4. Internet only package
5. Month2 Month option
6. Speed and latency that are superior to Iburst
7. A decent forum rep
8. Coverage map
9. Website to be updated after every new area goes live
