Default JHB > DBN : Toll Gates?

    Hi,

I'm trying to budget on a DBN trip. Am I right in saying 1200km total?

How many toll gates and how much are they on average?

I find to Durban planes are a bit of a waste of time - especially if you need a vehicle for a few days. You can drive there quicker than you can fly sometimes.

+/- R400 in tolls, +/- R1500 in petrol (including travelling whilst there).

    Return ticket +/- R600 p/p, car rental for 3 days +/- R1000

    Not much difference...
    Jägermeiʃter can fix that!

Yea but for driving I need to add my pay as your drive insurance That's 66c per km ... at 1200km that's an additional R800.00.

Before anyone *looks at timgaul* comments on how stupid I was, it suited me better at the time as fixed insurance was R1200-R1500pm and pay as you drive works out to R800-R900pm.

Just hits me at times like this :/

Take the alternate route through the valley of 1000 hills. 660km each way, but no toll roads.

It's my favourite, esp when I'm on my bike.
