    Default Neotel caps...

    Hey Guys,

Are any of you guys that have the 10GB packages able to run over the cap or do they hardcap it. If you can run over how much can you get out?

    Thanks,
    SS

Just because you've always done it that way doesn't mean it's not incredibly stupid.

I don't believe that they cap you at all. I think they just charge you for the extra bandwidth usage at 8c/MB (or R80/GB).

Now if only I could figure out how much usage I've done on my 10GB account. Does anyone know how you can check besides going to every machine you have used the device on to see the usage? Do they even have a web portal where you can check your account usage?

if it's R80/Gig, what would be the cheapest to download say 20Gigs a month - Uncapped or the 10GB Cap?

Cause the 10GB will be faster, right?

It depends on whether they apply shaping on their uncapped package and if you use something like BitTorrent or P2P which might be shaped.

    I personally don't so uncapped would probably be better for me than 10GB + extra bandwidth = R599 + R800 (for additional 10GB) = R1,399

What I don't get is that the 10GB package is R599, the 15GB package is R699. So you pay an additional R100 for 5GB of bandwidth, why charge R80/GB? Is it like a punishment charge for going over your limit?

If anything, my experience with Neotel so far has lead me to believe that they aren't *really* positioning themselves to take on Telkom. They're more like an ISP with voice services (at least in the consumer space).

If you don't wanna use the 15gig cap option they have a full speed uncapped at R999.
