Currently experiencing timeouts and very high latency, although the last couple of weeks I've just been grateful to get a connection for long enough to do some emails and light reading(about 20 minutes before falling back to GPRS), but tonight's connectivity is pathetic:

6222 packets transmitted, 6020 packets received, +6 duplicates, 3.2% packet loss
    round-trip min/avg/max/stddev = 52.174/3228.519/69503.709/7550.328 ms

    Hi PseudZ,

try to use 3G sim card and set up your network to be on UMTS only and see if its going to sustain the network, just upgrade the sim card and let me know after that.

Please note we are currently experiencing problems with our sites T194,T6881 & T2429 in the area of Northriding. Our Engineers are attending to them.

    T194- SMC/00003457332

    T6881-SMC/00003496272

What does this actually mean as 3G connectivity has been really shoddy for the past month with spiking latencies from a stable 250ms to a radical 1500ms+. Signed up for a 24 month contract and received 4 months of low latency and stable 3G connection suitable for gaming. Now stuck with a useless modem and a monthly bill to pay.

MTN blows - Will see who can offer the best LTE / Smartphone deal come June and move on. Tired of wasting time following up on repair status's - generic answer is "we will escalate your concern" and some dodgy email template regarding coverage. I have full signal - strong, what gives?

Experiencing serious network issues with MTN currently in Moreleta Park area, Pretoria. Full signal on handset, but no calls, SMS or data connection can be made. 808 number does not even ring. This was since yesterday afternoon!!. To top that off iburst was also down for most of the day yesterday so was completely isolated.
Please advise if experiencing any issues on MTN in this area ....
