What a bunch of clowns MTN are, they put you on hold for 30 minutes and longer, I just disconnected the call after 30 minutes, refuse to wait so long, they don't even give progress of how long it will take, all they play is their silly whistling song in the background. This is InterNOT at its finest.

Will that really make a difference?

Default MTN high latency and high jitter in Midrand

The past week or so in Glen Austin in Midrand we've been having very unstable service, even though we never go off of HSPA or WCDMA. We'll have high latency for hours and then suddenly it'll be fine again for an hour or so then back to lag city. And getting anything out of their help desk seems to be impossible... Attached two pingtest.net screens taken 15mins apart.

As you can see we jump from 700ms ping AND jitter to over 1000ms ping and jitter to a server in the UK. Before this I consistently got ~200ms ping with max 50ms jitter.

Ok so sitting at my desk in Vereeniging CBD I have some issues. I have a Nokia N79 (Cell C) and a Galaxy S2 (Mtn). On Cell C I have 3.5G 98% of the time. On Mtn I have Edge, 5% of the time and NO signal 95% of the time, it doesnt connect with 3G at all even when connecting with WCDMA alone. Vodacom also gets 3.5G signal (another Galaxy S2). Is my MTN sim to old (7 years)? Or could my phone be screwy?

my MTN data connection is basically unusable in the Jukskei park, Douglasdale, Bryanston area. Friends on MTN in these areas are having the same problem. I first complained about it a year ago - nothing has been done, but recently it has been really bad. MTN have now told me that they are aware of a problem in the area but are not sure when it will be fixed

Default Horrible 3G in Sunset Ave in Fourways

MTN, the signal quality is just degrading on a daily basis in Sunset Ave in Fourways. What is happening there to address the loads on the towers? EDGE signal is quite good but do not try and broswe the internet on EDGE, you will wait for more than 5 mins for google to load. According to your coverage map I should have 21 mbps 3G?? I am lucky if I get 1 bar on 3G.
