South African criminal records database?

Does anyone know of any database or archive of public records that lists up to date information regarding criminal cases and records against citizens? Is there a place where you can perform searches to query someones criminal record? Thanks

There are companies that u can pay a fee and they pull criminal and credit records...no idea what their names are as my employer makes use of the service so I cba to remember

Im sure that someone is getting paid by those companies to limit access to the public and give them exclusive rights, in order to make a viable business. That is a guess.
