Talking Yay! I just built a computer out of Spare Parts!

hehe... got bored... started puttering around in the garage.

Found an Asrock P4 motherboard in one old case, threw in a power supply, took a Celeron 1.7 Ghz chip out of another dead motherboard.

    Two CD-ROM drives (56 x and 52 x)
Two Hard drives (Maxtor 30 Gb and Samsung 40 Gb)

    two DDR333 RAM chips (512 and 256)

Put it all together and IT WORKED!!!

Now installing Ubuntu... gonna make a nice little Internet Browsing Machine.

hehe... I also discovered that my old AMD 750 Mhz (256 MB RAM) with Windows ME still runs! Now what can I do with that???

I think I'm gonna install Red Alert and Command and Conquer on it!

Christ-mass is NOT for Christians. Jeremiah 10.
Is the 10 Commandments for Christians?

Saturday is the Seventh day, Sunday is the first day.

Become a packrat and become known for taking everybody's old computer junk! Everybody in our church comes to me when they want to upgrade. I ask them if I can keep their old stuff... throw it in the garage and once a year see what I can put together!

On Monday I am gonna take the rest of the stuff to an old computer shop near work... those guys can see if they can do anything else with it.

believe it or not... when you give it some decent hardware it does not run too bad. You can also still download a ton of Windows Updates for it.

Who knows... maybe in ten years Windows Vista might also become a decent little operating system!

Just gonna use Hiren's Boot CD to delete the other windows partition on the second drive.

I ran pppoeconf... so my internet connection is working... downloading 282 Mb of Updates for Hardy Heron since 8.04.1

damn linux is getting easier and easier to use everyday! :O
