I've eaten a lot of venison too. Most of it is really good. In fact wildebeest steak is still one of my favourites. If you want to venture slowly into gastronomic sightseeing then try the various venison biltongs. Most of them aren't as good as beef but at least you'll come to realise that they're not scary at all...

I have had some Eland,not sure if that counts as weird but I thought it tasted great!
