    Default Problem sending email via smtp.vodacom.co.za

    I am using smtp.vodacom.co.za to send email from my my personal email account, using Outlook 2007.

    I have only been using this setup for a few weeks and have often encountered problems when sending emails via smtp.vodacom.co.za.

    For example, today I can't send any email, it all bounces back with the following error:

    Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.

    Subject: test
    Sent: 2008/09/04 02:19 PM

    The following recipient(s) cannot be reached:

    'myaddress@gmail.com' on 2008/09/04 02:20 PM
    554 5.7.1 <myaddress@gmail.com>: Recipient address rejected: Access denied

    Is this a general problem (i.e. vodacom), or something to do with my settings and config?

    Is there a way to resolve it?

    Hi bender442,

    I also had problems sending mail when setting my e-mail up.

    Check the following under "Internet e-mail setting".
    Under tab "Outgoing server"
    1) Tick --> "My outgoing server requires authentication"
    2) Also tick ---> "Logon on to incoming mail server before sending mail"

    When I did this I was able to send mail.
