Thumbs up How to grow a granadilla vine from fruit...

One of the most challenging and rewarding items to grow

    How to transform this...

    To

(Yes I did grow that from seed )

First select a few lekker looking granadillas

(Picked them from my vine :-) )

Cut the granadillas open and then get all the contents out of them

Then get a empty and clean 1 liter bottle and then throw in 1 teaspoon of sugar, add the contents you got from the granadillas then full up with water and leave for a hour..

    Now after 1 hour later...

I separated the juice from the seeds using a sieve and some of the water has been absorbed into the seeds pulp

I placed the seeds on a white piece of paper and left it in the sun to dry...

A day later they are almost dry...

They would have been dried if it was a sunny day...

They have completely dried and now I removed them by folding the paper and rubbing the granadilla seeds against each other therefore destroying their thin protective covering

Note the orange stuff on the side... that's their protective covers...

Just blow it away... and if there is any left put the seeds in a small plastic packet and rub until most of the orange protective covering has gone

Now get a container that can be completely sealed and get moist soil or moist growing medium or moist home made compost(It mustn't be strong) and pack in the growing medium(or other stuff) until it fulls 3/4 of the way... and throw in some of the seeds about 50 to 60 and then seal and then leave in a dark place and check daily for any sign of life... also open the container for a minute or two to air daily

    will update when they sprout
