Hit the sentech zone locator site. Find your stand, hover the mouse pointer over it and the coordinates will be display in the explorer bar at the bottom.
Now eat your food or there's no tv tonight [:D]
Do you want a sweet ? [:I] Just get into the car....[:0]
The easiest way is to find your house with the zone locator. Then hold the mouse pointer over your house. In the bottom left two numbers will update as you mouse the mouse.
The one with the minus is your "Degrees south" (25.5 to 26.5 for gauteng, more for Dbn & Cpt) and the other one is the "Degrees east" (28.2 for gauteng, lower for Cpt and higher for Dbn.
If you use a GPS that display the numbers as 28.12.23.1, make sure you put in at least 2 dots in the form even if it's 28.12.0
Someone said there is GPS coordinates on www.icasa.org.za of all the TV towers. Does anyone have a link ?
Yes, the icasa site's got a pdf with all the TV antennae with their GPS coords and frequency. That's the only way I tune my TV programs [:)]

I've added some of the sites from ProASM's post.
Hope this helps... don't have time to do more.

Thanks R.
I didn't know about that post. I'll just use a gawk/sed/bash script to put all the info in my .csv
nic, I've already converted them to csv if you wanna use it:

Great work!!!
Just a thing though is I live in Brackenfell and according to these settings Newlands is closer to me than Durbanville. Any one knowing Cape Town knows that that can't be. Durbanville is 10 kilos by car not even as the crow flies.
So something seems to not work so fine on Cape Town... any comments?
I think either the co-ords for sentech's zone locater are wrong or the co-ords for the
CT Durbanville / Parrow North / AmandaGlen towers are wrong.
What do I base this on? Well it seems Parrow North is now a coastal beach on the north side of Koeberg :P.
Also the fact that all the towers are 70+ Km's away from me had me wondering :P
It didn't process the Cpt & Dbn coordinates correctly the first time, but it's all sorted out now.
Something is still not right as Durbanville is much closer to me than Newlands is.
I dont think it's the calculator thats the problem. It's either the co-ords that the sentech zonelocator gives us or the actual co-ords proasm gave for the towers. If I use the zone locator and find the co-ords given for parrow north durbanville ect. the location ends up being like 50-70km's from where the area's they claim to be in.
yeah VioNectro
It seems to be that durbanville and all these places have moved [}:)][:o)]

The mistake you are making is that you are confusing DD.MM.SS notation with DD.ddddddddd notation.
DD.dddddd = DD + MM/60 + SS/3600
I fixed the y values of the Cpt towers in my calculator. At last everything should be right, but please post suspected error to the "Tower Information" thread.
Thanks nicroets things are in the right place now and every one at the office is *covered* with smiles [:p]
