JHB Modem support Issues

Hello Everyone,

Just to keep those that need modems replaced/repaired/tested in the loop:

When the Helpdesk sends you yo NoWire in VillageWalk - they DON'T have coverage and can therefore not really TEST the modem. Also, they may not have stock....

So, you get referred to NoWire in Menlyn (PTA)... lovely ... just another example of the fine service offered by our dear friends at Sentech.

And before anyone comments that Sentch != Nowire ... Nowire/Fastcomm are handling ALL support of the modems... I've aksed that it be explained to me why I cannot have my modem tested and replaced at Sentech Fourways ... this had been referred to a "Call Centre Manager" last night ... One would have expected an answer from another company - the fact that I've not received a response from Sentech hardly suprises me anymone ....

Em, its because they outsource all their k@k, like I mentioned in previous posts.

Fastcomm does the towers (they on the other hand outsource another company for that as well, can't remember, but the Technical dude Charl is part of that company)

NoWire is Fastcomm's retail devision

The Call Centre is also outsourced

Only thing I see which is not outsourced is their financial department, and seeing at what a bunch of monkey's they can be, I thank god everyday that they chose to outsource people.

Downside is, communication gap is huge....

Why do you have to "put your two cents in"... but it's only a "penny for your thoughts"? Where's that extra penny going to?
 
I had my modem swapped out at the Sentech office, a very sexy and friendly blonde lady did it without any problems.
 
Lucky you vangend ... if you speak to the call centre they tell a rather different story ;-)
