    Ever heard of EASSY ?

I guess every now and then it happens, but generally when something this big needs to happen, South Africa in particular has a spectacular knack of throwing a few spanners in the works.

No, I haven't heard of EASSY, and yeah, it is a rare sight, but I just don't like holding them/us to that. It's not a characteristic that we should stick on to the continent with superglue. It needs to come off at some point and rubbing it in further doesn't help. But your perception is warranted.

Well kudos to Kenya who were on the point of pulling out of the EASSY project, because SA kept delaying it, to start their own cable project.

btw check www.eassy.org . It is really contains a woeful amount of information compared to the SEACOM website. The SEACOM website has detailed maps and progress reports, and even a break down of all the buildings for the landing site and such. The EASSY website... well yeah.. while reading the site I didn't even realise they were laying a submarine fibre cable to the rest of the world.

There's quite enough of that "help" in the world. No more "help" needed. Thanks !!

Thanks for the link, stark comparison to SEACOM for sure! Although it seems to be updated with more details, I don't know what it looked like before, so yeah...
